Believe it or not, getting a fever isn’t the worst thing in the world, despite the fact it feels like the opposite. A fever is most often a defense that the body provides against infection so it’s actually a good thing. In my experience fevers are generally harmless and can actually be considered a good sign that your immune system is working properly and that the body is trying to heal itself.

Supporting the body’s ability to work through the fever naturally may result in a quicker recovery then when we rely on western medicine.

- Peppermint is a common remedy for colds and flu. It has stimulating and diaphoretic properties, this helps aid the skin in eliminating toxins. Peppermint contains menthol, a known muscle relaxant great for relieving sore muscles and body aches from fever.

- Elderflowers not only act as a relaxant, but also have diaphoretic properties and help with information of the upper respiratory tract. The relaxing part of the herb will help tissues relax and allow blood flow to increase to the peripheral areas of the body (skin and limbs). This causes the skins pores to open up and let the body sweat.
